About the museum
The museum occupies the building where the Bergò family worked as blacksmiths from the early 18th century until 1960, when the last blacksmith, Battista Vincenzo Bergò, known as Censin, ended his activity. The name “Frér” refers to the blacksmith’s trade. The museum was founded in 1983.
In the first room, the water wheel can still drive the workshop’s machines. Next comes the forge, with the tools for working iron and numerous objects, while the last room is devoted to the techniques for making weights, measures and scales. The route also includes a large collection of locks and farming tools.
