About the museum
The Museo del Fumetto in Cosenza presents itself as the first museum in southern Italy dedicated to visual storytelling. It is located in the historic centre, in a building of the former Santa Chiara monastery complex, and spreads over four levels: on the top floor a large hall beneath the dome of the former church, on the intermediate floors exhibition rooms, creative workshops and educational spaces, and on the lower level a room with Andrea Pazienza's motorcycle.
The permanent collection includes works by Italian and foreign artists, among them Manara, Shelton, Breccia, Liberatore, Stano and Toffolo. Many artists have visited the city and engaged with its history and legends. The museum also offers an audio guide and a virtual tour.
