About the museum
The sacred art museum of Zumpano, named after Bartolomeo Vivarini and also known as “Il tesoro di San Giorgio Martire”, opened in June 2008 in the rectory of the church of San Giorgio Martire. It houses objects connected with the worship and devotion of the parish community, some of them the work of local craftsmen.
The rectory also had a civic function: the community's assemblies met there, documented in 17th-century manuscripts, some of which are kept in the diocesan archive.
The collection includes sacred silverware, wooden furnishings and liturgical vestments. Among the most important works are Bartolomeo Vivarini's triptych with the Madonna and Child between Saints George and Benedict, and a wooden pulpit from the mid-17th century.
