About the museum
The MAM – Museo delle Arti e dei Mestieri is housed in a historic building on Corso Telesio, in the old town of Cosenza, near the cathedral (Duomo). It was conceived to preserve and pass on the traditional trades of the area and to make local craft culture better known.
Alongside its object collection, the museum organises seminars and courses and, during the year, temporary themed exhibitions. One of them, devoted to stone working, was promoted by the Province of Cosenza together with a porphyry district in Trentino.
