About the museum
The Museo del Mare in Castellammare del Golfo gathers images, utensils and tools used by the town’s fishermen, both in the past and more recently, documenting one of the oldest means of livelihood in the town: fishing.
The museum is housed in what was the home of a humble fisherman, and therefore also gives an insight into the living conditions of ordinary people. It is a few minutes’ walk from the centre and from the Arab-Norman castle.
