About the museum
The Museo del Palmento in Santa Venerina combines artistic production with the preservation of farming traditions. It is housed in a manor house dating from 1850 and is a private museum: it displays objects handmade by the owners, as well as the so-called “bombe dell’Etna” (Etna bombs) and other finds of lava material.
The rooms gather objects and tools documenting rural and domestic life in past centuries: hoes, presses, sewing machines and basins bought in various places. Outside, an ancient pottery kiln has been reconstructed.
