About the museum
The museum is dedicated to the magnificent bridge built by the Romans in the 1st century BC, whose majestic arch is the widest of those from the same period still standing in Europe. The bridge is also known as the Ponte del Diavolo.
A series of photographs, drawings and documents illustrates the materials and construction technique, the legends in which the bridge is the protagonist, its 19th-century restoration and its narrow escape during the Allied bombing of August 1944.
The museum is also the starting point for a full visit of the town: a 360° film screened in the same small room introduces Pont-Saint-Martin.
