About the museum
The exhibition faithfully reproduces an early 20th-century school classroom. The furnishings and school objects come from the old school of Marine, a hamlet of Perloz, which has been renovated and now serves as a museum and as a hall for events organised by the Proloco.
The classroom contains the teacher’s desk, wooden benches with sloping tops and a place for the inkwell, the stove, exercise books, pens, steel nibs, alphabet books and school readers. On the walls hang geographical maps showing the borders of the time, along with various posters. The slate blackboard retains the marks left by the bullets fired by the Fascists during the reprisal of 1 July 1944.
