About the museum
The museum is housed in an old 15th-century residence in the village centre of Perloz, bought in 1953 by some partisans of the III Brigata Lys. The Brigata Lys was the first partisan formation active in the lower Aosta Valley, and in 1943 it carried out the first action of the Resistance in this part of the valley.
The rooms recreate the everyday life of the partisans with settings such as cellars, a village school and interiors of mountain huts. Documents of the brigade, membership cards, photographs, prints, clothing and uniforms, weapons, period maps, equipment, tools, furnishings and musical instruments are on display, accompanied by multimedia material.
The museum also includes a documentation centre with publications, videos, recordings, manuscripts and archival documents. From the village starts the path “Les Chemins de la Liberté”, which takes about an hour on foot to connect Plan de Brun with the hamlet of Marine, passing places associated with the partisan struggle.
