About the museum
The museum was founded in 1888, when Piero Maroncelli gave the city of Forlì memorabilia and documents; other citizens later enriched the collection. Since 1964 it has been located on the piano nobile (main floor) of Palazzo Gaddi, on Corso Garibaldi.
On the first floor are displayed objects linked to protagonists of the Risorgimento, among them Maroncelli, Aurelio Saffi, Achille Cantoni, Carlo Matteucci, Giovita Lazzarini and Antonio Fratti. One room is dedicated to Fulcieri Paulucci di Calboli and Italo Stegher, gold medal recipients of the First World War.
