About the museum
The Museo romagnolo del teatro is housed on the ground floor of Palazzo Gaddi, on Corso Garibaldi in Forlì. Its original core consists of the donations made by the heirs of the Forlì tenor Angelo Masini and of the soprano Maria Farneti, to which were added further donations and the research of Antenore Colonnelli.
The route is laid out over eight rooms. Six are dedicated to Masini and Farneti, to the choirmaster and composer Cesare Martuzzi with his Canterini Romagnoli, to the soubrette Ines Lidelba and to the actor Ercole Colonnelli; two hold musical instruments of various kinds and memorabilia of the Teatro Comunale di Forlì, destroyed in 1944.
The museum holds photographs, stage costumes, letters and mementos of the city’s musical and theatrical life between the 19th and 20th centuries, including two bronze medallions with the portraits of Giuseppe Siboni and Eugenia Tadolini.
