Solo exhibition by the artist Remo Giombini at the Museo del Somaro, curated by Nello Teodori, with a critical contribution by Rita Vitali Rosati.
The Museo del Somaro arose from an idea of Nello Teodori, who opened it in 1999 in his studio in Perugia. Since 2018 it has been based in Gualdo Tadino, in a medieval palace owned by the municipality on Via Calai, and presents itself as a centre for contemporary art.
The display is a tribute to the donkey, an animal that, according to the museum, deserves greater consideration. It is conceived as a large polyphonic metaphor for human contradictions, in which real values are often overwhelmed. The collection comprises over one hundred works by visual artists, accompanied by contributions from people in entertainment, literature, criticism, science and politics. The museum offers guided tours, educational workshops, exhibitions, lectures and events.
