About the museum
The Museo del Vino is based in the Cantina F.lli Zeni, on the Costabella hill above Bardolino, with a view over Lake Garda. It has existed since 1991, when the collection of objects gathered by Gaetano “Nino” Zeni and his children was opened to the public free of charge to document the Veronese wine tradition and, more generally, Italian wine culture. The Zeni family has lived in Bardolino since 1800, and the winery was founded in 1870.
The route is divided into thematic areas that illustrate the production chain: from growing vines to the grape harvest, from processing grapes to bottling, from ageing in barrels to transport. Vats, presses, scales and farm wagons show the centuries-old relationship between people and wine. The display includes panels, captions and multimedia aids.
The visit can continue with the Galleria Olfattiva and the Sala Bottaia (cask room), the enoteca (wine shop) and sales point, and the panoramic terrace, from which you can see the tower of San Martino della Battaglia, the Grotte di Catullo and Punta San Vigilio.
