About the museum
The museum is housed in the craft workshop of the Scibetta family of Bisacquino, who worked as clockmakers from the 18th century until the 1980s and became known for building tower clocks. For about three centuries their clocks marked the rhythm of community life, signalling wake-up time, school start, noon, the Ave Maria bell and midnight.
The collection includes clocks, work tools, gears and mechanisms, drawings, photographs and portraits, as well as a rare universal geographical clock. The museum can be visited on request.
