About the museum
The museum was established in 1997 and originally documented the insects of the different areas of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. Later, after a series of visits by Marsican brown bears to the village, the Park Authority (Ente Parco), at the urging of the Pro loco and residents, dedicated the facility to the bear.
The museum is located in the locality of San Sebastiano, in the municipality of Bisegna. The route includes three rooms dedicated to the small and large fauna of the park, with information panels and photographs. The museum commemorates in particular the female bears Gemma, Amarena and Forchetta. It is also used for environmental education activities for schools.
