About the museum
The museum of rural life is one of the initiatives born from the “Città Museo Roscigno Vecchia” project, launched in 1995 by the Pro Loco, which was founded in 1983. The project aims to keep alive the history of the village of Roscigno Vecchia, a settlement abandoned by its inhabitants between 1908 and 1960 that stands in the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park.
Alongside the museum of rural life, the project has created a museum of the peasant house and annual events such as the “Festa di Roscigno Vecchia”, “Pane & Olio” and “Roscignoli nel mondo”. Information on visiting arrangements must be requested from the Pro Loco.
