About the museum
The museum is housed in a municipal building near the church of Santa Barbara, in Teggiano's historic centre. It holds objects dating from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century, showing everyday life, work and popular religious practice before industrialisation.
The collections come largely from donations by Teggiano families. Ancient trades are documented, such as those of the farmer, the spinner, the carpenter and the blacksmith. Of particular interest is a collection of glass photographic plates showing the historic centre and local customs from around 1890 to the early 1900s.
