About the museum
The museum tells the story of the agricultural revolution that began in Massa Lombarda between the 19th and 20th centuries. It takes its name from Adolfo Bonvicini, a local landowner who, together with the agronomist Bellucci, helped establish the first peach orchards, dating from 1905.
The route begins with the transformation of the landscape through land reclamation and covers the themes of the smallholding, the family and rural society, sharecropping agreements and social struggles around the turn of the 20th century. One subsection illustrates the main production processes of the subsistence economy, such as bread, wine and hemp.
On the ground floor, farm tools and everyday objects recreate the interior of a peasant house, with the hearth, the plough for rice paddies, the stilts used for grape harvesting and pruning, and the hemp brake. The upper floor contains the main section, devoted to fruit growing in Massa Lombarda, with extensive pictorial and written material.
