About the museum
The museum is housed in the former monastery of San Salvaro, a building founded at the end of the 11th century near a watercourse. The restored complex tells the history and memory of the Bassa padovana.
The route includes a room dedicated to rural life, with evidence linked to the traditions, customs and social context of the area, as well as maps and objects. Among the most significant pieces is a copy of the map “Retratto del Gorzon” (1633), which illustrates the environmental and geographical changes of the area.
The restored monastery also houses a refreshment point, in a room recreating an old-style inn where local specialities can be tasted, and a hostel. The museum is part of the museum system of the Bassa padovana.
