About the museum
The museum occupies part of the former Orsi tractor factory in Tortona, an example of industrial archaeology, and is named in memory of Roberto Giuseppe Orsi Carbone. The collection documents the production of the firm “Orsi Pietro e figlio” from the early 20th century to the late 1950s; the company played an important role in the “Battaglia del grano” (Battle for Grain) promoted under Fascism.
The spaces cover about 1,800 m²: on the upper level is the reception area, the former turning shop houses the permanent display, and one room is reserved for temporary exhibitions. The route presents twenty-two pieces from the Orsi and Berri collections, including tractors, steam traction engines, fodder presses, threshing machines and a combine harvester.
