About the museum
The museum is housed in the Palazzo Marchesale, the former castle in the heart of Tossicia, which today also houses the town hall. It aims to safeguard and promote the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of Tossicia and the Valle Siciliana, focusing on the trades that shaped the lives of past generations.
The display is organised into four sections, each linked to a key product of the agro-pastoral world and represented by a material: copper, textiles, wood and cereals. Each section includes hands-on activities that allow students, teachers and visitors to explore the materials and the techniques used to transform them. The museum also hosts a permanent exhibition dedicated to the artist Scipione Annunziata.
