About the museum
The Museo delle Trame Mediterranee was established in 1996 by Ludovico Corrao and belongs to the Fondazione Orestiadi. It is housed in the Baglio Di Stefano in Gibellina and is the result of years of research, acquisitions, meetings and studies promoted by the foundation.
The route brings together objects of different periods and origins to trace the evolution of the decorative motifs of Mediterranean craft and art: arabesques, writing and pseudo-writing, interlaced geometries. The main sections are decorative arts, with Sicilian, Tunisian, Moroccan and Spanish ceramics and a collection of costumes and textiles from the 18th to the 20th century, contemporary art, and visual arts.
The space in front of the Case Di Stefano hosts works by artists such as Pietro Consagra, Mimmo Paladino, Enzo Cucchi and Costas Varotsos.
