About the museum
The Museo delle Valli is one of the three stations of the Ecomuseo di Argenta and is housed in the Casino di Campotto, an 18th-century building at the entrance to the Campotto Oasis. Built as a farm building, it was later used as a hunting lodge. It has been restored with its original appearance preserved, and the museum was renovated and opened in 2007.
The route tells, through images, objects and models, the history, culture, traditions and nature of the area. The ground floor is devoted to the history of the valleys, land reclamation, life in the valleys and the gathering and processing of marsh plants.
On the first floor are the natural environment and the wetlands, with the four habitats of the Oasis: the shallow-water area (laminato), reedbed, wet meadow and woodland. A multisensory room shows a film on the four seasons of the Oasis, with a soundtrack and special effects.
