About the museum
The museum was founded to protect the sacred objects scattered across the churches of the upper Val Trebbia, in villages that are often almost empty for much of the year. Repeated thefts and damp had made a secure and well-preserved site necessary.
The collection includes ancient books, candlesticks, crucifixes, reliquaries, textiles and vestments, among them garments bearing the coats of arms of the Doria princes and silks embroidered with gold and silver thread, as well as chalices and silverware, lecterns, statues and paintings. The oldest piece is a bell from the church of San Bartolomeo, dated 1355.
