About the museum
The Museo Diocesano “G. Boccanera” of Camerino is housed in the Palazzo Arcivescovile (Archbishop’s Palace) in Piazza Cavour. After years of closure it reopened in the restored rooms of the palace, with a new public opening in October 2025.
The museum gathers the sacred art of the diocese (painting, sculpture, goldsmiths’ work and liturgical furnishings) along a route from medieval devotional art to the Baroque. The display is organised in four sections: frescoes and panels, sculptures, paintings on canvas, and goldsmiths’ work and liturgical furnishings.
