About the museum
The Pinacoteca civica di Camerino was housed in the San Domenico complex in Piazza dei Costanti. The collection is especially known for the 15th-century painters of Camerino, such as Olivuccio di Ciccarello, Arcangelo di Cola and Giovanni Angelo d'Antonio, and for the cycle of frescoes of the Passion from the rural church of Patullo, the work of Girolamo di Giovanni, which has been reassembled in the museum.
The museum also includes 18th- and 19th-century ceramics from Pesaro and thirty-five contemporary sculptures by the sculptor Bruno Bartoccini.
After the 2016 earthquake the complex is no longer usable and the civic works are kept in storage, partly in the church of the Seminary and in the building “Venanzina Pennesi” in Via Macario Muzio. A project funded with reconstruction funds plans to bring the civic gallery back to the church of San Francesco.
