About the museum
The museum is a permanent exhibition space, strongly supported by the community of Andonno, a hamlet of Valdieri, so that the memory of mountain life in past generations is not lost. It is named after Giuseppe Giraudo, known as “lu pustin d’Ëndonn”, and originates from a property donated in 1931 by Caterina Pepino, known as “Ninìn Tabas”. The building was entirely renovated to house the museum.
A simple route tells the everyday life of past centuries by recreating the atmosphere of several rooms. On the lower floor scenes of daily life are presented; on the outside balcony the trades and farm work; on the upper floor the work of women.
