About the museum
The museum is dedicated to the memory of Giuseppina Guasco, a keen scholar of local history, and is divided into two sections. The first, born in 1997 from a photographic exhibition and opened in 2002, gathers the written and photographic memories of the inhabitants who shaped village life between the 19th and 20th centuries, with tools and utensils linked to everyday and domestic life, to rural traditions and to sporting, religious and musical fairs.
The second section, opened in March 2015, presents the finds from the excavations carried out on the hill of Monte Follia (1031 m) by the Istituto Internazionale di Studi Liguri of Bordighera, dating from the Iron Age and the Augustan period. The display unfolds along a route through the staggered rooms of a single late medieval building.
