About the museum
The museum takes its name from the rubat, a roller of stone and wood used for threshing. It was founded in 1981 by the local history research group of Piscina, which brought together tools and objects kept in the farmhouses of the area.
The sections tell of rural life up to the mid-20th century: farm tools of various sizes, household objects and everyday items, implements for silkworm rearing (sericulture), and photographs and documents on peasant life.
According to the Comune’s listing, the building is undergoing a major general renovation and the museum is for now closed; when possible, visits take place on request and with free admission.
