About the museum
The project began in 1991 at the initiative of the Piscina painter Antonio Panino, with the ambition of comprehensively representing the different strands of the Piedmontese art scene at the end of the millennium. Over the years the works were painted directly on the walls of houses and public spaces in the town.
Since 2021, with its re-establishment as the civic open-air museum of contemporary art of the municipality of Piscina, a pilot project for the restoration and conservation of the collection has been under way. The museum is a dispersed museum: the roughly seventy works, figurative, informal and abstract, are encountered along an open-air route in the historic centre, which is freely accessible. The base at Piazza Buniva 5 hosts activities and exhibitions; new works are added every year.
