About the museum
The museum is housed in Villa Scarzella, built in 1855 by the notary Giuseppe Scarzella as a summer residence on the grounds of the old castle of the Del Carretto family. The villa was bought by the Comune di Millesimo in 1989 and today also houses the local archaeological museum and the association Millesimo Vive Arte & Storia.
The collection documents the events of the Napoleonic campaign in Italy with an important series of prints, drawings, maps, posters and proclamations. Some dioramas recreate scenes inspired by the clashes on the battlefields, while a range of military and civilian finds recovered from the sites of the fighting completes the route.
