About the museum
The parish museum was founded by Monsignor Alberto Mongardi, archpriest of Bagnara di Romagna from 1932 to 1978, and is housed in the parish house of the parish church.
The collection brings together mainly religious objects from the churches of the area: liturgical vestments in brocade and damask, lace and embroidered fabrics from the 16th to the 19th century, an antiphonary and a gradual with woodcuts dated 1520 and 1524 signed by Pier Paolo Porro, a 16th-century Bible, choir books and manuscripts, and prints from the 17th and 18th centuries. There are also silver and gold objects, including a 17th-century monstrance-reliquary and an 18th-century chalice, paintings from the 16th to the 18th century with an altarpiece by Innocenzo da Imola dated 1515, majolica, a 15th-century wooden crucifix from the school of Donatello, and over a thousand coins and medals. The parish archive holds documents and registers, some dating back to the 13th century.
