About the museum
The picture gallery is spread over two floors in the centre of Civitella Roveto and holds works by abstract and figurative artists, with a common thread linked to the landscape. Most of the works come from the Valle Roveto prize, an art competition launched in 1954 and initially named after Antonio Mattei.
The collection includes works by local and Italian artists of the mid-20th century, among them Armocida, Cordio, Ercole, Muccini, Omiccioli, Poggiali, Ranocchi, Sabatini, Sarra, Solimena, Toccotelli, Trotti, Vangelli, Cervelli and Colonnello, as well as Pasquale Di Fabio and Nino Gagliardi. Special openings are planned during the summer months.
