About the museum
The museum grew out of a project launched in 2016 by the cultural association elettroLudica, a group of retrocomputing and retrogaming enthusiasts who have for years restored and preserved entertainment machines. It opened on 26 June 2021 with the support of the municipality of Avezzano.
Across about 1,500 square metres are displayed around 150 pinball machines and 200 arcade cabinets from all over the world, as well as more than 400 consoles, home computers, handheld games, cartridges and peripherals. The oldest pinball machine dates from 1968, and among the early arcade games is Computer Space, from 1971.
An in-house workshop restores the machines, which are kept in working order. The museum recreates the atmosphere of an amusement arcade and offers outreach activities on electronic, digital and musical culture, including for schools.
