About the museum
Since 2002 the hall of the abbey of Sesto al Reghena has hosted a showcase of contemporary sacred art, conceived by the artist Claudio Mario Feruglio. In fifteen years the showcase has presented more than one hundred artists and over 450 works.
From this experience the museum grew: the first core of the collection consists of over 60 works donated by Italian, European and Far Eastern artists, and forms the basis of a regional museum of contemporary sacred art.
The collection is displayed in the exhibition hall of the Barchessa Piccola, part of the Burovich cultural centre, in piazza Barbo, next to the abbey. The name recalls the Dalmatian Burovich family, who lived in the building until the mid-20th century; the house previously belonged to Giovanni Corner, the last commendatory abbot of Sesto al Reghena.
