About the museum

The laboratory was created for the 400th anniversary of the death of Guidobaldo del Monte, a 16th-century mathematician and scientist linked to Mombaroccio, and is located in Palazzo Del Monte. The palace was built from the mid-16th century by the Del Monte family, who held feudal lordship over the village from 1543 to 1644.

The space reconstructs the experiments described in 16th-century treatises on levers, inclined planes, pulleys, pendulums and optical instruments, accompanied by explanatory panels. It is designed both for schools and for enthusiasts of science and history.

The laboratory is managed by the Pro Loco di Mombaroccio.
