Museo storico aeronautico
Museum in Loreto's town hall with Air Force uniforms and equipment from 1923 to today; free admission.
Have only individual sections read aloud
About the museum
The museum opened in 2004 in Loreto's town hall and is run by the Associazione Arma Aeronautica, Loreto section. The choice of venue is linked to the cult of the Madonna di Loreto, proclaimed patron of airmen in 1920 and celebrated every year by Air Force units on 10 December.
The route displays uniforms, flight suits and equipment of the Italian Air Force from 1923 to the present day, acquired through donations or purchases. The museum is organised into four sections: the uniforms of the Regia Aeronautica (Royal Italian Air Force), flying equipment from 1923 to today, the Second World War (with material from the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, the Aviazione del Sud and the Regia Marina) and the post-war period.
By booking, visitors can try the flight simulator, which can only be used in the presence of an operator.
