About the museum
The museum was founded in 1985 through the passion of Cavaliere Emanuele Tonino Galgani and his Alpini. It is on the ground floor of Palazzo Blasetti, the seat of Antrodoco’s town hall.
The route covers about 300 square metres in four rooms and aims to preserve the memory of Italian soldiers, safeguard the military heritage and serve an educational purpose for young people. The main core is dedicated to the Truppe da Montagna (mountain troops), with materials of the Alpini.
Uniforms and items of the Aeronautica, Marina, Artiglieria, Bersaglieri and Paracadutisti are also on display, as well as uniforms of the Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and Polizia, along with over three hundred headgear from the Italian and foreign armed forces. There are also relics from the two world wars and the colonial campaigns, including weapons, uniforms and fragments of bombs, and a base camp setup.
