About the museum
Mendicino is known as the “Borgo della Seta” (Silk Village) for its tradition of silkworm rearing. The museum, presented as “Antica Filanda Gaudio – Museo della Seta”, is in the Parco Fluviale, a green area close to the historic centre, where water from local springs fed the mills that served the silk mill.
The same park also has another silk museum, the Museo Dinamico della Seta. The sources consulted provide no information on the collections, opening times or visiting arrangements.
