About the museum
Muvita, short for Museo Vivo delle Tecnologie per l’Ambiente (Living Museum of Environmental Technologies), is a science outreach centre in Arenzano devoted to the relationship between people, energy and climate. It presents itself as the first centre in Italy with this focus.
The exhibition explains atmospheric phenomena and the so-called climate machine, presents the different energy sources and addresses saving energy and energy efficiency. Activities are aimed at young people and adults, with educational routes and workshops, often led by guides.
Part of the museum commemorates the Haven oil tanker disaster, which occurred off Arenzano in 1991, and there is a section on the natural environment of Monte Beigua.
