From August 20, 2026
Art exhibition organised by the Fondazione Seui in the Palazzina Liberty, with works by Decoroso Bonifanti and Antonio Alice that bring nineteenth- and twentieth-century painting into dialogue.
The museum is housed in an Art Nouveau (Liberty style) building from the early 20th century, built by the municipal doctor Raimondo Loi. The building, on Via Roma, has vaulted ceilings and frescoed walls; in the past it housed the Società Mineraria Monteponi and, from the 1930s, the Comune di Seui.
The exhibition route is developed across four thematic rooms. The archaeological section presents finds from the Nuragic period onwards, including an hourglass millstone, alongside a coin collection with coins from the Punic period to the Savoy period. The mining section is devoted to the anthracite mines, with miners’ tools and a historical archive of documents, booklets, newspapers and maps. One area illustrates the local industrial heritage, linked to a century of mining activity, while the civic section holds a large photographic archive and a reconstruction of a 19th-century notary’s office.
The building is part of the wider system of Seui’s museums in the historic centre. Among the notable pieces on display is the first distillation still built in Sardinia, serial number 0001.
