About the museum
The Piccolo Museo della Moto was founded in 2008 by Emilio Bariaschi, a collector and racer who gathered and restored the motorcycles on display. It tells the story of motorcycle development from the end of the Second World War to 1965, the period when the motorcycle played a leading role in mass motorisation, including events such as the Milano-Taranto and the Motogiro d'Italia.
The collection comprises 182 pieces from 41 Italian makes, with some important European examples, including Gilera, Moto Guzzi and MV Agusta. It spreads over four pavilions covering about 650 square metres on the banks of the Po, with a well-ordered, educational route.
Guided tours include technical explanations and curiosities. One room screens period films of motorcycle races from the 1950s to the 1970s.
