About the museum

The gallery was opened in 2005 on the ground floor of the Franciscan complex in Falconara Marittima, which also houses the library and archive of the Frati Minori delle Marche (Friars Minor of the Marche). It occupies about 800 square metres.

The idea came from Father Giancarlo Mandolini, with curatorship by Armando Ginesi and Leo Strozzieri. The collection brings together about 250 paintings and sculptures by well-known and lesser-known artists from all over the world, who reinterpret the historical figure of Saint Francis and the themes of Franciscanism.

Among the artists represented are Bruno da Osimo, Bruno d'Arcevia, Carlo Cecchi, Floriano Ippoliti, Nicola Rossini, Paolo Gubinelli, Bruno Mangiaterra, Valeriano Trubbiani and Loreno Sguanci.
