About the museum
The Sog van Rindel (Italian: segheria di Rindel) stands on the Balkof stream at Fierozzo, in the Valle dei Mocheni. It is a small Venetian-style sawmill that operated until the 1970s, mainly cutting planks for the farmsteads of the Inderpèrg area.
Today it is a branch of the Museo della Valle dei Mocheni, run by the Istituto culturale mòcheno, and tells the story of woodworking traditions and the material culture linked to work in the forest. During the visit you can see how the water-powered sawing process works, as well as a small corner built so that the owner could cook and keep warm; the visit also explains how the water is regulated and channelled next to the mill.
The activity is currently suspended until further notice. In the past the sawmill was open in summer, with group visits by booking at other times.

Getting there & parking
The sawmill is on the Balkof stream, in the locality of Rindel in Fierozzo. According to tourist sources it can be reached on foot in about 40 minutes from the locality of Hachler, in the direction of Valcava – Balkof, or in about 30 minutes from the Palù sports ground.
