About the museum
New exhibition rooms have been opened on the first floor of the Sērenes Tautas nams, next to the local history room located in the library premises of the community house. They are furnished with rooms appropriate to their period: “Zāras istabiņa” (Zāra's little room) with household objects from the first half of the 20th century; “Kolhoznieku ģimenes dzīvoklis” (a collective farm family's flat) with objects from the second half of the 20th century up to the 1990s; as well as “Muzikantu istabiņa” (the musicians' little room) and “Sapnis par izstāžu zāli” (a dream of an exhibition hall). The rooms hold not only items donated by local residents, but also life stories, testimonies and memories.
