About the museum
The Etnografinė Prano Dzūko sodyba (Pranas Dzūkas Ethnographic Homestead) is the largest branch of the Lazdijų krašto muziejus (Lazdijai Regional Museum). It consists of six buildings: a residential house, a granary (klėtis), a barn (kluonas), a smithy and two farm buildings. One of the farm buildings has been adapted for stage activity, and in 2025 another farm building was renovated with an educational space.
The homestead reflects the everyday life of a Dzūkija village in the early 20th century: visitors can see exhibitions of old farm implements, furniture and household utensils. The museum in Delnickai village was founded in 1972 by enthusiasts, on the initiative of Algirdas Savulis. The homestead recalls not only the daily life of earlier times, but also the almost vanished village of Delnickai between the settlements of Šeštokai and Birutė.
The homestead is set back from busy roads but easy to reach, which makes it suitable for educational sessions, tours and celebrations.
