About the museum
The Lekėčių miško muziejus (Lekėčiai Forest Museum) was founded on the initiative of long-serving forester Stanislovas Ruseckas. Later the exhibition was moved to the first floor of the Stables Gallery building of Zyplių manor in the village of Tubeliai, which belongs to the Lukšiai branch of the Šakiai Culture Centre.
The exhibition shows taxidermied animals, collections of butterflies and other insects, tools used by poachers and other natural curiosities. All the animal exhibits died of natural causes. Children especially love the exhibition.
