Raudonės pilis

Opening hoursAdmission €3

About the museum

The palace of Raudonė Castle was built around 1600 on the right bank of the Nemunas, at the mouth of the Raudonė stream, on the site of earlier castles. The manor and castle were held by the Kiršenšteinai family, later by the Olendzki family, and the last owner of the manor was Juozas de Faria e Kastro. Today the castle and the park surrounding it are the main sight of the town of Raudonė.

An observation platform has been set up in the castle tower, where visitors can view the exhibition there and watch a film about Raudonė and its history. Fairs are held in the castle, educational programmes are run, and a fun little train operates in the park.
