About the museum
The Metalo fantazija museum is an integral part of the Pušelė campsite in the village of Žirgėnai, by Lake Vištytis, in Vilkaviškis district. Its exhibits are made from metal parts that had been condemned to recycling or destruction, and with every season the number of original and new works grows.
The collection is very varied: it displays more than 800 exhibits depicting figures from the plant and animal world, as well as modern improvisations. Darius Renaldas Dulinskas contributed a great deal to the creation of these works, and the wood carver Povilas Penkaitis decorated the museum with more than 80 oak works.
The museum operates in the open air, and in the evenings the exhibits are illuminated, so the campsite's guests can spend the night in the museum's surroundings. The museum is a member of the Lietuvos muziejų asociacija (Lithuanian Museums Association).
