About the museum
The Upynos etnografijos muziejus was founded in 1973 by the local historian Klemensas Lovčikas. Over the decades more than 3,700 ethnographic exhibits from Upyna and neighbouring districts have been collected.
The collection is displayed in the former presbytery granary. On the granary walls outside, many metal crosses, wayside columns and small chapels have been fixed. The museum is a branch of the Šilalės Vlado Statkevičiaus muziejus.
